Each year, CVSA chooses a category of violations to focus on. This year, the inspections will emphasize steering and suspension systems.
According to CVSA, the inspections will include reviews of “brake systems, cargo securement, coupling devices, driveline/driveshaft, driver’s seat, exhaust systems, frames, fuel systems, lighting devices, steering mechanisms, suspensions, tires, van and open-top trailer bodies, wheels, rims and hubs, and windshield wipers.” The goal of the event is to ensure vehicle safety, proper stability and handling.
During an inspection, drivers should be prepared to provide operating credentials, a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, driver’s record of duty status, vehicle inspection reports, etc.
